Hello fellow curly girls! If you’re someone who feels like you can’t get your hair – specifically baby hairs, to HOLD, then stay tuned because I am going to share with you a trick I use.
As a kinky haired girl, I feel like I’ve tired a lot of edge controls to get that amazing 24 hour hold that everyone seems to talk about but it’s never achievable. Curly hair has a mind of it’s own and if your hair is anything like mine (4c), as soon as you do that first swipe with your edge control, it already coils up again! Well no more, because I use Aloe. Vera. YES. The raw plant. I use Aloe vera on basically everything now, but my edges is one of my favorite ‘hair hacks.’
Aloe vera has very good healing properties so originally I was putting in my hair to moisturize my scalp and hair but then I noticed how sticky the gel is inside and I just did my edges with it one day and was amazed. The first time I styled my edges with Aloe it did hold but slightly. I realized Aloe is good to use for styling but I still needed something to hold it down throughout the day so I decided to mix it with another product so it would last. Here is how I do my edges:
- raw Aloe Vera can be purchased at local grocery stores (Walmart, Food4Less, ethnic grocery stores)
Hopefully you try this and it works for you hair! Thanks for reading.
